Notices - On-Site Assessment for CALEA
Jan 13, 2012 - The Charlotte County Sheriff's Office is scheduled for an on-site assessment as part of a program to achieve accreditation by verifying it meets professional standards.
Administered by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA), the accreditation program requires agencies to comply with state-of-the-art standards in four basic areas: policy and procedures, administration, operations, and support services.
Agency employees and the public are invited to offer comments by calling 941-833-1878 on Tuesday January 24, 2012 between the hours of 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. Comments will be taken by the Assessment Team.
Telephone comments are limited to 10 minutes and must address the agency's ability to comply with the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. For more information, please contact Bob Carpenter, PIO at 941-575-5252 or Christine Goracke, Accreditation Manager at 941-575-5340.
A public hearing will also be held Tuesday January 24, 2012 at 6:00PM in the Sheriff's Office Training Room B located at 7474 Utilities Road, Punta Gorda. Those wishing to address the assessors will be limited to 5 minutes and must address standard related issues.
